For the first half of this year, I was workin’ pink/red/orange firey hair. After 6 months of the same combination I was ready to do something else. It was July, so I wasn’t ready to go into deeper colors that I usually associate with fall, but I still wanted to change away from the pinks. I really like the pink/red/orange combo but in the summer when its hot, and especially after a run, my face also get super red and it kind of matches my hair. After seeing what Pravana colors were available I told my hairstylist that I would go with blues. She used a few of the base colors then mixed some together for a neat effect.
I never go to my hairdresser with a picture or a pin. She went to school for this right?! I didn’t. She knows what she’s doing. I find when I trust my hairdresser and let them use my hair as their canvas they always do the best job! Although I totally scour Pinterest for sweet bright hair pictures, I realize some of those are photoshopped and possibly done in more than one session. Some are real, but it could be done by someone who does Hollywood hair and gets paid a ton more than your average hairstylist. Have real expectations, relax, and let your trustee hairstylist do her thing! When I go in I tell my hairstylist, Jade, the general color I want to go for and she gets mixing up beautiful dishes of color! This time those dishes were teal, purple/blue/deep blue, and light blue! Then I try not to peak until she dries it so I get that “WOW!” moment. This time was no different, the blues pop and I love the depth! A new hair style/color leaves me feeling beautiful and fresh!
These next few pictures are from my most recent trip to the Salon. They were out of the light blue shade, so I ended up going a little darker. Its September now, so I figured it was legit to start transitioning to a deeper fall palette. Again, Trust your stylist. If you’ve been going to them for a while, they know what colors will look good on you and chances are they’ll blend everything together so beautifully!
I will doing a post later on taking about how to keep your beautifully dyed hair brighter longer! You pay a pretty penny to get it done, or at least a decent amount of time to do it yourself at home, so wouldn’t you like to keep it vibrant longer? Stay tuned!!
